Dr. Keuer and his wife recently attended the Northern Illinois Food Bank Stars and Cars event to raise funds and awareness to help end hunger in northern Illinois. The event raised over $105,000, which equates to $840,000 worth of groceries or over 7,000 backpacks for the Food Bank’s BackPack Program!

Stars and Cars raises more than $105,000 for Northern Illinois Food Bank
(Oct. 8, 2013 – Geneva, Illinois) — The inaugural Stars and Cars, presented by Fifth Third Bank and benefitting Northern Illinois Food Bank, raised more than $105,000. The proceeds will support the food bank’s BackPack Program, which provides children at risk of hunger with a weekend’s supply of kid-friendly, nutritious food.
Chaired by Brian McCaskey, Chicago Bears Senior Director of Business Development, and Alyssa Pazdan, President, Kids Feeding Kids, the event drew nearly 200 guests, including Chicago Bear’s wide receiver Joe Anderson; several alumni Bears players, including Rashied Davis, Robin Earl, John Janata, Glen Kozlowski, Emery Moorehead, Adrian Peterson, Mike Richardson, and Jim Thornton; Lake Forest Mayor Donald Schoenheider, and Larry Potash of WGN-TV. Chef Jaime Laurita emceed the Oct. 3 evening event at Lake County Sports Cars in Lake Bluff.
Guests enjoyed tastings from prominent area restaurants, including: Atwood Café, Bodega Grill & Wine Lounge, Deerfields Bakery, Jaime Laurita Brands, Lovell’s of Lake Forest, MH Fish House, Saranello’s Ristorante Italiano, The Capital Grille, Wildfire and 2Nite Vodka.
