Dr. Richard Troy is a board-certified Urologist practicing in Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. His hospital affiliations include Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Advocate Sherman Hospital.
Dr. Troy received his B.S. in Premedical Studies, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He then went on to obtain his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, IL in 1987, and he completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Troy’s professional interests include Prostate cancer, with emphasis on the treatment of advanced cancers, and Men’s health and wellness. He continues to expand his knowledge and expertise by attending conferences and meetings related to prostate cancer.
Dr. Troy has performed over 1000 minimally invasive robotic surgeries using the DaVinci robot, and with Dr. Goldrath, will be soon publishing a journal article on a specialized technique for a robotic partial nephrectomy. Dr. Troy is a member of the American Urological Association and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
In his spare time, Dr. Troy enjoys travel, playing golf, and running. He is dedicated to setting an example of a healthy lifestyle for his patients by choosing nutritious food options and exercising regularly.
