Dr. David Goldrath is a board-certified Urologist practicing in Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. His hospital affiliations include Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Advocate Sherman Hospital.
Dr. Goldrath received his B.S. and his Medical Doctorate from the University of Michigan in 1979 and 1983, respectively. He then went on to complete his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Goldrath received his MD/MBA from Indiana University Kelly School of Business in 2016.
Dr. Goldrath is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he is a member of the Chicago Urological Society and The American Urological Association,
Dr. Goldrath’s professional interests include robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgeries for cancer and benign diseases of the prostate, bladder, kidney, adrenals and ureters, and microsurgical vasectomy reversal. He is the founder of the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Surgical Robotic Program and chairman of the Robotic Surgery Committee.
Dr. Goldrath has presented at many medical conferences and Urologic society meetings on the topic of DaVinci Robotic Surgery. He has performed over 2000 minimally invasive robotic surgeries using the DaVinci robot, and with Dr. Troy and others, will soon publish a journal article on a specialized technique for a robotic partial nephrectomy.
In his spare time, Dr. Goldrath is an avid golfer and reader, and he enjoys hiking, sports, theater, and music.
